Privacy Policy
Mi Abogado PC ("Mi Abogado," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (https://www.mi-abogado.us), to the ways you can contact us — phone, text message (SMS), WhatsApp, email and web forms — and to the legal services we provide.

1. Information we collect
- Contact and identity information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, preferred language, and the details you include in your messages.
- Communications you send us by phone (calls may be recorded or transcribed, with notice at the start of the call), text message, WhatsApp, email or web forms, including conversations with our automated phone assistant.
- Information about your legal matter that you choose to share so we can evaluate or handle your case — for example, a notice from immigration court or your hearing date. Please do not send documents or identification numbers by text message or WhatsApp; we will tell you how to deliver documents securely.
- WhatsApp profile information (your profile name and phone number), received through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform when you message us there.
- Technical information our web server records to operate and secure the site (IP address, browser type, pages requested), kept for a short time. Our website does not use cookies or third-party trackers.
2. How we use your information
To respond to you and provide customer support; to evaluate your matter and, if you hire us, to represent you; to schedule and confirm appointments; to send service-related messages you have consented to; to keep our records; and to meet our legal, professional and security obligations. Communications about a potential or existing legal matter are handled in accordance with our professional duty of confidentiality.
3. Text messages (SMS): consent and your choices
If you provide your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may send you customer-care texts: appointment confirmations and reminders, requests for information, status updates, and replies to your questions.
- Consent. By providing your mobile number and agreeing, you consent to receive SMS messages from Mi Abogado PC. Consent is not a condition of purchase or of hiring us.
- Frequency. Message frequency varies.
- Rates. Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Reply HELP (or AYUDA) for help, or contact us at hola@mi-abogado.us or (612) 230-0000.
- No third-party sharing of mobile information. No mobile information — including your phone number and your SMS opt-in or consent — will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with the providers that deliver our messages is limited to delivering the service; text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for their own use.
Our full Text Messaging (SMS) Terms apply.
4. WhatsApp
You can message us on WhatsApp at (612) 230-0000. Those messages are delivered through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform and are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. We use them only to respond to you and provide our services, and the same limits apply: please do not send documents or identification numbers through WhatsApp.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our tools under contract and only as needed to provide our services — our customer-support platform, our Microsoft 365 email and scheduling environment, our telephone and SMS provider, and Meta for WhatsApp. They are bound to protect your data and to use it only for the services they provide to us.
- Courts and government agencies, only as part of representing you and with your authorization, or when required by law.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect rights, safety and security.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here and to meet our legal and professional record-keeping obligations, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified. Message transcripts and call recordings are kept for limited, defined periods.
7. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, including access controls and multi-factor authentication for our systems, encryption in transit, and least-privilege access for our team and providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please contact us if you believe your information has been compromised.
8. Your rights and how to delete your data
You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, and you may withdraw messaging consent at any time (see section 3). Write to hola@mi-abogado.us; we respond within 30 days. Records we are required to keep by law or by our professional rules may be retained.
9. Children's privacy
Our website and messaging channels are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information there. Information about minors that is part of a legal matter is collected from a parent or guardian as part of our representation.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new effective date here and, where appropriate, notify you.
