Text Messaging (SMS) Terms
By opting in to or using a text message service (as defined below) from Mi Abogado, you accept these Terms and Conditions. This agreement is between you and Mi Abogado PC. All references to "Mi Abogado," "we," "our" or "us" refer to Mi Abogado PC, 327 Marschall Road, Suite 210, Shakopee, MN 55379. Our text messaging number is (612) 230-0000.
Definitions
"Opting in," "opt in" and "opt-in" mean requesting, joining, agreeing to, enrolling in, signing up for, acknowledging, responding to, or otherwise consenting to receive one or more text messages.
"Text message service" includes any arrangement or situation in which we send one or more messages addressed to your mobile phone number, including text messages (SMS, MMS, or successor protocols or technologies).
What we send
This is a customer-care service for conversational, person-to-person communication between you and our team: appointment confirmations and reminders, requests for information, status updates about your matter, links you have asked us for (for example, to schedule a consultation), and replies to your questions. We do not send marketing or promotional messages through this service. We never ask you to send documents, identification numbers or payment information by text.
Consenting to text messaging
By consenting to receive text messages from us, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, incorporated by reference.
How we collect consent
- By phone or in person. You provide your mobile number during a call (including with our automated phone assistant) or a visit, and you are told: "By providing your phone number, you agree to receive SMS customer care messages — appointment confirmations and reminders, requests for information, status updates and replies to your questions — from Mi Abogado PC. Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. We will not share mobile information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes." Your verbal agreement is recorded in your client record, and we send you a confirmation text.
- By texting us first. If you send a text message to our number, that message is your opt-in for the resulting conversation.
- Online. Where one of our web forms offers it, by entering your mobile number and checking the SMS-consent box.
Consent is not a condition of purchase or of hiring us.
Electronic record
By agreeing to receive text messages, you also consent to the use of an electronic record to document your agreement. You may withdraw that consent by replying STOP.
Privacy of the text message service
We only use the information you provide through this service to deliver messages to you and respond to you. This includes sharing information with the platform providers, phone companies and other vendors that help us deliver messages.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The categories above exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We may disclose information as necessary to comply with law, regulation or a governmental request, to avoid liability, or to protect our rights or property. This section applies to your use of the text message service and does not modify our general Privacy Policy.
Cost of messages
We do not charge you for the messages you send and receive through this service. Message and data rates may apply depending on your plan with your wireless carrier.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. After an initial message with details about the service, the number of texts you receive depends on how you use our services and on the actions you take that generate messages (such as a HELP request).
Opting out
To stop receiving text messages, reply to any message with STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE. We may send one confirmation of your opt-out. To rejoin, reply START. For help, reply HELP or AYUDA.
